Partnerships

Most of our work is accomplished through collaboration with local groups and other organizations. This strategy allows us to accomplish a lot with limited resources. Here’s a list of some key partners:

  • Limyè Lavi is our sister organization in Haiti and provides on-the-ground operations for many of our programs.
  • Haiti Partners is now its own organization, taking responsibility for the work formerly done by Beyond Borders through the Living Words and Circles of Change programs.
  • Matenwa Community Learning Center serves as a model Haitian school and community development initiative.
  • N a Sonje Foundation provides cultural education and exchange opportunities.
  • Groundswell International and Partnership for Local Development work together to help marginalized rural communities increase food production, establish savings and credit cooperatives, and organize seed banks and health committees.
  • Haiti Response Coalition is a network we co-founded after the earthquake to coordinate response efforts. It includes more than 20 member organizations.
Cantave Jean-Baptiste, director of Partnership for Local Development (PLD) meets with Beyond Borders and Limyè Lavi staff at the UN base in February. Beyond Borders helped PLD secure seed funding and launch its work supporting sustainable agriculture and development in more than 100 communities in three regions of Haiti.
