Hundreds of thousands flock to the Caribbean each year seeking sun, sand, and sea. Few tourists these days end up coming to Haiti, though. Beyond Borders invites you avoid the package tours and the make-believe world they create behind resort walls. Come discover the hidden spiritual riches of Haiti and her people. Skip the package, take a pilgrimage. Others return home with only a tan to show. You will return home radically transformed.

Beyond Borders organizes for visitors to spend part of their time in Haiti in the countryside, staying with Haitian families. These visitors are with Journey into Freedom.

Beyond Borders offers a unique experience that is also very different from the many work teams and short-term mission groups that frequent Haiti. We believe that the best gift you can bring Haiti’s people is a desire to listen, learn, and be changed. The real work will begin once you return home.

Come meet people who live on the other side of the global economic divide and let them show you the world as they see it through their eyes. The world will never look the same to you again. Cross-cultural relationships and understanding are cultivated during the stay in Haiti and are the key to transformation for hosts and visitors alike.

You will be assigned a translator who will not only help you build authentic relationships with people in the community you visit, but who will help you make sense of the new cultural realities that surround you. They will also guide you in making your visit a safe and healthy experience.
