Joy & JubileeGod gave ancient Israel laws meant to prevent the gap between rich and poor from growing too great. Every fifty years all debts were to be forgiven, all slaves freed from bondage, all land returned to its original owners, and all the soil given a year to lay fallow and rest. (Lev. 25) Jubilee was to be a year-long celebration of God’s bounty and sufficiency.

Our world is in desperate need of Jubilee. The gap between rich and poor has never been greater. In this issue we look at how Jubilee brings joy and freedom to rich and poor alike and how Beyond Borders is promoting the spirit of Jubilee.
