Well is the theme of our Spring newsletter, and the implication
is that not all giving is done well. Kent Annan writes about
a charitable woman visiting Haiti who causes a small riot
in her attempt to give. David Diggs writes about a dictator
who gives with one hand what he has stolen with another.
And Kris Stoesz argues that beggars should be choosers.
In these and other articles we explore how giving can do
more (or less) good depending on how well it is done.

Borders is thankful for the chance to facilitate good giving
and receiving between the U.S. and Haiti, between neighbors
who have much to receive from each other. Life is full of
generous exchanges, and in both the giving and receiving
we can experience God’s grace.

Why shouldn't beggars be choosers?

Visitors to Haiti discover their own neediness.

Giving well requires both our hearts and our heads.
